3 blog posts in as many weeks! - Something's wrong?

Ha ha .. yup... something is wrong, I've got far too much spare time on my hands these days, that's what's wrong.

Just thought I would share some more of my tickle and phaffing with you. Be warned - picture overload.

This is a page in my A5 cash book journal. Border images from Nancy Baumiller @ Crowabout. Other images from Donna at http://http//www.etsy.com/shop/Donna67
In early August I purchased three lush cash ledger journals at bargain prices. (before redundancy hit me like a brick). The biggest of the ledgers is just over A4 size and cost the princly sum of £3.00 .... yes £3.00 can you beleive it! It is slightly older than me and it is in better condition than me LOl and dates from 1926 through to 1939 and it is FAB FAB FAB
I have had many people (particularly family) asking why do I ruin such a fabulous old book by painting in it. Well my answer is that I am giving it a new lease of life. Otherwise it is just sat there doing nothing. Yes people will read it, but other than that what else is happening to it??? I must admit it did take a while for me to be comfortable with slapping paint and spray inks on such a historic piece of paper but once I laid the initial strokes of paint the fear and doubts were gone

I use this big ledger as my daily journal, like a diary really and it's the one I really do vent and let rip in LOL

Below are a couple of previously completed pages
And a page prepped and ready to go. This page will continue to be a work in progress. As well as my daily ramblings I will add scraps of paper, stamps, splats, blobs anything and everything during the process.
You can see bigger pics on my flickr (see link on right of blog at bottom of page ) So, there you have it. Some of the tickle and phaffing that fills my day.
Thank you to everyone who has pm'd, emailed or contacted me with good wishes on the job front. I really appreciate your comments and friendship.

New journal page

There is seriously only so much housework you can do in a day, and as I have so much free time on my hands these days (no luck with any of the interviews last week :-( ) I am phaffing about with my journals on an almost daily basis.

Here is a page from my A4 journal - I hardly work in this journal these days so it was nice to have some extra space to work on.

The border is from Nancy Baumiller aka Crowabout at Deviant Scrap http://www.deviantscrap.com/shop/product.php?productid=17697&cat=0&page=2

Dancing girl and words are from Marsha @ http://www.etsy.com/shop/tumblefishstudio?section_id=6535349
Spray inks and paints are from Dyan at http://shop.afth.co.uk/dylusions-376-c.asp

As blogger is being a pain and not allowing click to enlarge feature, a clearer version of my page can be seen on my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/34712906@N07/5164522088/

Absent with good cause

Oh my goodness - I have been away for far too long.

In my defence I have been rather busy job hunting and sorting other issues out. I was made redundant mid September and unfortunately other priorities stepped up the ladder i.e sorting out my mortgage, bank account etc etc and more importantly finding a job. Still nothing on the job front I'm afraid (although it's not through the lack of trying). The first couple of weeks were rather hectic and frightening - I've never experienced redundancy before. But I can report that things have settled down somewhat and I am accepting my current situation albeit not necessarily enjoying it.

I wasn't able to journal a great deal in those first few weeks, but here are a couple of pages that I have done recently.
LOL nice and grey for that depressive state of mind.
and I deliberately made this page brighter although the journalling is rather glum!

The gorgeous images are from Marsha at Tumblefish studio and all paints and ink sprays are from Dyan at Art from the Heart.

And this one I did over the w/end as my contribution to record Halloween. I've lightened the scan as it's towards the end of my journal and the earlier bulk in the book causes a shadow on the scan - I could try and flatten it but I'm afraid I may break the spine on my poor old journal which is already showing strain with the additional paints and images.

The grim reaper image is from Itkupilli. This journal is an old A5 cash book and is 107 years old! So I treat it with lots of TLC.
I have also finished my October calendar page although I must confess to not yet completing September - I will get around to it soon though, everything is recorded in my big daily journal.
I have interviews on Thursday and Friday of this week and Tuesday of next week so hopefully, by the time I blog again I will be back in full time employment (fingers crossed).
